Privacy Policy

Quell is built so that your data is yours, on your device, full stop.
What we collect
Nothing. Quell has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. We never see your streak, your journal, your slips, or anything else you put into the app.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter (streak history, daily logs, journal entries, badges, settings) is stored locally on your device, and in the app's own App Group container so the home-screen widget can show your streak. It is not uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes the data.
Apple Health (optional)
If you turn on "Read sleep from Health" in Profile, Quell reads your sleep data from HealthKit to draw on-device charts. This access is:
- read-only — Quell never writes to Health;
- optional — every feature works without it;
- local — Health data is read for display and never stored elsewhere, transmitted, or shared.
You can revoke access anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Notifications
Reminders (morning ritual, evening wind-down, milestones) are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content passes through any server.
External links
The app links to educational resources (for example, BetterSleepMetrics.com), which open in an in-app browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Children
Quell is intended for adults and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version ships with the app update and is posted at this page.
